Hi! I hope all is well. I’m currently setting up my blog as a point-of-sale system. I’m adding PayPal buttons to my artwork posts, so it's easy for people to click and purchase. Please note that the photos displayed in this post are not for sale, as they are priceless works; my self-portraits – LOL. Seriously, I’m just testing some things.
Hello everyone! It’s showtime at the University
of La Verne’s Irene Carlson Gallery of Photography! That’s right, I’ve been
invited to share my Kinetic Ambiguity Project. The gallery is located at the
following:
2237 C Street
La Verne, CA 91750
The gallery is in Miller Hall on the ground
level.
The artist reception
is on Thursday, February 19th, 2026, from 4pm to 6pm. I hope you can make it!
Edward Lance Montgomery wants to share
his creations of manipulated light with you. His passion? Photographic art
rendered with his signature post-production formula, creating unique and
engaging yet still familiar pieces. The image making process is especially
personal for him as he photographs these works in a moving vehicle. This began
for him back in 2003 while he served in the Army during the war, on his last
deployment to Iraq. Being how he couldn’t simply stop his convoy to take
pictures, he would take pictures while on the move – hip shots or “no look”
shots, if you will. Initially, the blurry images were culled from the “good”
ones, but the blur intrigued him. He never stopped experimenting with blurry
images, not even during his undergraduate studies as a studio art major, he
kept this work to himself. The project wouldn’t even get a name until 2013 –
the Kinetic Ambiguity Project. Now, you would be hard pressed to find him doing
anything else.
Edward, an award-winning artist, has
participated in art exhibitions, written art reviews, and curated art shows. He
is a 2014 honors graduate of California State University, San Bernardino with a
BA in studio art (concentration photography) and a minor in business
administration. By way of a 20-year military career, Edward has lived around
the world but has since returned to his home state of California. He currently
lives in the high desert city of Victorville.

Yes, if walls could talk…
One thing I really think they would say
(I'm still talking about walls) is, “hang something inspirational on me like
this artwork”.

Yes, I’m still working on blog. I’ve been working on this blog since 2010. I’ve basically been trying to figure out how a blog works. I know, that’s a lot of figuring.

It looks like it's on fire. For the record, there is no fire – just fast movement.

You might be wondering what I’m doing. I’m trying to send along some calming vibes, from me to you, by way of my print, “Green Joshua”. I’m asking you to slow down so you can really see it. Besides, I think we are all going too fast anyway. That being said, my prints are designed to be seen in person. Face-to-face interaction works best with this work.

I do not photograph subjects as life-like images. My work is sometimes abstract and at other times impressionistic and many times both. What I’m doing is having a conversation with light, shadows, and color. In my Kinetic Ambiguity’s Land Series, Vista Segments, there is a lot of focus on what you can’t see. The challenge is often figuring out what you do see. If you look for them, you’ll notice that the landscapes have been there right in front of you, all along.

This gets a little unsettling, the act of stating one’s prices in this contemporary art endeavor. Or rather this art business. The reality is that I have nothing to lose and much to gain – though it is challenging to see that right now. So, to be clear, my artwork is for sale.

The F/8 Photography group show is still going on until September 3rd. It’s an imaginative presentation of some amazing photographs. You’ll feel the real purpose of the work when you see it up close. And I mean that for all of the prints, not just mine.

Hey, don’t mind me. I just broke my website again. For me, WordPress is not user friendly. I even paid for services from an outside vender once. I’m never doing that again – it still hurts. I need to change subjects though. We have another group show coming up, gang! This one is in Ontario, CA and it’s free to the public. Next Saturday at 2pm. That’s May 3rd next Saturday. I hope to see you there.
Time is just flying by. Sometimes, it’s a challenge to keep. Like keeping up with the new shows I’m in. Currently, I have two more prints in an exhibition in Livermore, CA. The show, “Identity: Defining Identity Through Visual Expression”, is currently open and runs through May 4th. It’s a group show and free to enter. You should have a look if you get the chance to.
I may have mentioned that my application to exhibit art at Ontario International Airport was approved by the Chaffey Community Museum of Art. Installation of two of my prints (these two) is scheduled for March 19, 2025, and will be up until January 2026. Please, let me know if you see them.
Hello friends and poetry lovers. I’m shaking the cobwebs off of my blog as I need it for the great things that are coming in the near future. I was also wondering if I should scrub the old stuff or just leave it so folks can see a part of the journey. Tell me what you think about keeping or getting rid of the old stuff.
I should probably read it before I do anything else, just in case.

of looks like a glass of ice tea.
